Forum "Public Libraries" Committee Member, Suzanne Moore, submitted the Wilkes County Public Library application for one of the Forums' microgrants in the late months of 2021. After being selected, the Wilkes County Library team quickly used their Forum microgrant award to establish a hybrid reading group called, the Talking Service Book Club (TSBC). Designed for veterans and fellow military affiliated members of the Wilkesboro, North Carolina community, the TSBC currently meets monthly. Their two hour sessions provide members with opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions and shared understanding. Folks are able to meet in person at the library or on Zoom every second Friday of the month.

Subsequently, due to the program's success, Suzanne co-presented, with Mara Lynn Tugman, at the 2022 Metrolina Library Association Conference on the topic, Libraries & Veterans: Book Clubs, History Project, Program Toolkit. Special thanks to both Suzanne and Mara Lynn for promoting the Libraries & Veterans Forum Toolkit.
